AAUW is a national organization that promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. We have six local branches in Alameda County, California – in the San Francisco Bay Area: Alameda, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward-Castro Valley, Livermore-Pleasanton Dublin, and Oakland-Piedmont. This website gathers information about these branches. Our Interbranch Council is a group of leaders from those six branches. Individuals do not join the Interbranch Council. Members of local branches and representatives from College/University AAUW partners are welcome to attend the IBC meetings.
Check our Events page for information about various programs sponsored by local branches. We encourage you to add some of the events to your calendar.
The branches also engage in a variety of projects promotng our mission. Examples:
- See the just-released Tri-Cities Women of Influence coloring book, a project of the Fremont Branch, League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City, and Washington Township Museum of Local History.
- The Oakland-Piedmont publishes an annual virtual directory of summer camps. The 2020 version is now available at: https://oaklandpiedmont-ca.aauw.net/2020-summer-camps-programs-virtual-fair/
Each branch has a membership page with information on becoming a branch member.
